Coach Pimm has been commissioned to measure a new 5 km. route for the inaugural Bio-K+ Bum Run being held on Sunday August 26/12, starting at 8:00 a.m. (since this post, Athletics Canada has reviewed and certified the route)
The route is a loop course, in the heart of downtown Toronto, starting and finishing in front of the legislative building in Queen's Park. See the route map here.
There are also a great line-up of overall (3 deep) and age-category prizes by Timex, Northface, Bulova, Danier Leather and more !
The Bum Run is a not-for-profit organization, with the goal of raising awareness about colorectal cancer screening in order to prevent the 95% of cancer deaths which still needlessly occur.
All proceeds will go toward Colon Cancer Canada, a national powerful organization that is dedicated to saving lives through increasing public awareness, promoting easy access to screening, funding research initiatives and providing support to colorectal cancer patients and their families.
So folks here's a late summer, early morning, opportunity to shake your booty on a flat, certified route for a great cause.
