Last year, Michael had been a member of the Pan American Jr. National Team, where he finished 6th in the individual 400, and was a member of the bronze medalist winning 4 x 400m team.
Earlier this year at the April Penn Relays, Michael was involved in a collision that resulted in a slightly injured hamstring and which has been gradually healing since. Despite this setback, he was able to compete in Moncton where he finished 4th and he has been selected to Canada’s National Team competing at the World Jr. Track and Field Championships this week.
BTW, there’s a cool picture of Trnkus and a well known sprinter (to say the least), that pops up when you do a Google Image search for Trnkus. See here.
