Resurfacing Varsity Centre track 06/29/2010
Those of you who live in Toronto, may have recently noticed that the University ofToronto's Varsity Centre 400m. track, located just west of the Royal Ontario Museum has resembled a construction zone, rather than the place where Usain Bolt won a 100m race, almost one year earlier. This is because the top 2 polyurethane layers, which are laid over an asphalt base, are being replaced. Today, I happened to pass by the site, and was lucky to see the final stages of this project in progress with the application of the top surface over the 1/2 inch base ....And I thought: hmmmm, I'm betting folks might find this process of interest, and so took a few pictures. Check out the pictures here. 2 Comments |
